Introducing the Mazkirut of MBI Kaf Gimmel!

We'd like to open this blog by introducing you to the Mazkirut of MBI 2014!

Rosh MBI – George Stevens
George grew up at Machaneh Galil outside Philadelphia, spent 5 summers working at Machaneh Miriam and worked on MBI in 2009. He has a B.A. in Religious Studies with a focus on Jewish Studies from Stanford. After working in the Vancouver Jewish community, George and some of his  friends from Habonim made aliyah to help build an urban kibbutz in Haifa, part of the Kvutzot Am organization of Habonim graduates in Israel. Since then, George was a madrich for Workshop 61, served in the IDF, and is currently serving as educational director for Dror Leadership High School, a semester abroad program in Israel. George went on MBI Yud Gimmel in 2004, and is super excited to be leading MBI Kaf Gimmel ten years later! He's especially excited to sail across the Kinneret during Rafsodia.

Merakezet Chinuch (Educational Director) – Sarah Fisher
Hi! I’m Sarah. I grew up in London, a small town in Southwestern Ontario, and went to Machane Gesher. After many years of loving machane as a chanicha, I worked for three summers, and then lead on MBI in 2009 and 2010. After graduating from McGill in 2012, I moved to Israel with a group of ladies from Workshop 57 to live in Kvutza, and join the community of Habonim graduates in Israel. After finishing the year of Workshop hadracha, I decided to make aliya. Since then, I have been doing messima in Beit Hatzeirim, which is an after-school children’s centre in Hadar (Haifa) run by Dror Yisrael. MBI Kaf Gimmel is going to be Kaf amazing, and I am really excited to be rakezet chinuch this summer!

Rakaz Techni (Logistics Coordinator) – Tamir Haber
I grew up in Rishon Le Zion and joined Hanoar Haoved V’Halomed (Habonim’s sister youth movement in Israel) when I was in 11th grade. I worked as a madrich on MBI in 2009 and then was a Workshop madrich in 2009-2010 for Workshop 59. I have continued to work with chanichim from Habonim by working with North American and Australian Shnat (equivalent to Workshop) chanichim over the last few years. I am currently a madrich in a boarding school at Kibbutz Eshbal and I am very excited to be returning to MBI for my second summer as Rakaz Techni!
