All Okay At Ramat Shapira Youth Hostel

After the group arrived back at the youth hostel tonight in Israel, there was a siren that went off in the larger community that surrounds the hostel near Jerusalem. Shortly after the siren sounded the leadership staff was informed by the Cheder Matzav (security situation room) that the siren was a false alarm and the area was safe and secure.

While the situation near Gaza, East Jerusalem and the West Bank has escalated since the group arrived last week, we have received security clearance each day from the program provider and the situation room with whom we work closely. Our tour guides will continue to receive this clearance before anyone leaves the hostel everyday.

We will make changes to the itinerary if necessary and I will do my best to keep you informed through out the rest of their journey.

Thank you,
Jeremy

  1. Thanks Jeremy, this will be very much appreciated. If I may suggest- as you can imagine parents of kids from the MBI are checking news more often than usual. Taking in account that we do have the daily itinerary booklet, maybe when you know that you are in a "hot" place (regarding the news, of course) to drop a line in the blog can avoid lots of phone calls from parents to the kids, it will make everything easier for everybody.
